Coleta V. JIMENEZ was born on March 6, 1846, in Habana, Ciego de Avila, Cuba, to Manuela Henquez NOGUERAS (1825-unknown b. Cuba)  and Jose Rosario (Charo) JIMENEZ  (1821-1960 b. Cuba).

Coleta V. JIMENEZ married Manuel Andrew LARIZ in Cuba in 1873 when she was 27 years old.

In 1880, Coleta and Manuel lived on Whitehead St in Key West, Florida. Manuel worked as a cigarmaker. 

In 1885, Coleta and Manuel lived with Coleta’s father on Whitehead St.

In 1900, Coleta and Manuel lived at 510 Carolina St in Key West. Manuel worked as a cigarmaker. 

Coleta frequently returned to Cuba to visit family members. In 1900, Coleta sailed on the S.S. Mascotte from Havana, Cuba to Key West.

Her husband Manuel Andrew passed away in 1904 in Key West, Florida, at the age of 63. They had been married 31 years.


In 1905, she sailed on the S.S. Miami from Havana, Cuba to Key West. She lists her son, Manuel as point of contact in Key West with his address of 908 Duval Key West.

In 1910, Coleta lived with her children at 908 Duval St in Key West. This census notes that Coleta only speaks Spanish.

In 1914, Coleta lived at 1125 Catherine St in Key West.


In 1917, Coletas brother sailed on the S.S. Miami from Havana, Cuba to Key West to visit his sister, Coleta. His final destination was New Orleans.


Coleta V. JIMENEZ died on January 15, 1922, in Key West, Florida, when she was 75 years old. Burial place is unknown at this time (2025).
