Andrew worked as a grounds gardener at the Naval Station in Key West. He received a commendation letter from Captain G. R. Reinhart of the U.S. Fleet Sonar School in Key West on August 3, 1959 for “his industry, his ability to see what needs to be done, and his prompt, enthusiastic action to accomplish his work, extensive knowledge of the local flora, its care and its history.”

  • His half-sister Mercedes died on August 3, 1938, in Key West, Florida, when Andrew was 19 years old.

  • His father Manuel Andres passed away on February 15, 1947, in Key West, Florida, at the age of 71.
  • His half-brother John Andrew Rodriguez died on January 24, 1949, in Key West, Florida, when Andrew was 29 years old.
  • His half-brother Domingo Berardo died on July 14, 1957, in Key West, Florida, when Andrew was 38 years old.

Andrew Woodrow (Bubby) Lariz died on February 25, 1995, when he was 75 years old. He was laid to rest in Greenville Memorial Gardens in Greenville, S.C.
