In May 2025, after many years of compiling documents, I was finally awarded the Florida Settler certificate for several of my ancestors. My research includes several ancestors who are considered Pioneers, but I have yet to find the necessary documents needed to complete their applications.

“The Florida State Genealogical Society’s Florida Pioneer Descendant Certificate Program honors descendants of Florida pioneers who settled in Florida prior to statehood on 3 March 1845, and Settlers & Builders of Florida who settled in Florida between 3 March 1845 and 31 Dec 1900.”

My father, Ernest Eugene Hamilton Sr. was also issued a memorial certificate.
