MEMORIES FROM DESCENDENTS:
Gerry Patureau, “When I was a young child, we called Mary Agnes “Aunt Susie”. I never really knew why. I didn’t know her as Mary Agnes until I heard someone call her that years later. I know she loved children and was always smiling and happy. She loved to fish!”
Mark Daniel Patureau, “She was very well read, as a matter of fact she could read upside down.”
Rita Patureau, “She was always smiling and a happy person loved us and children so much, everyone loved aunt Susie!! She and mama used to wash and iron clothes for families that worked and they had the whitest sheets and shirts in Ft Myers. I can still see them blowing in the wind in our backyard clothesline!! And do you remember that you never saw aunt Susie in anything but black pants and white shirts ? That’s all she ever wore ! I and everyone loved our aunt Susie!!!”
She died on January 28, 1970, in Lee, Florida, at the age of 74. Mary was buried in the Fort Myers Cemetery.
