Leonora “Lela” KNOWLES was born on October 18, 1884, in Key West, Florida to Justin Everett KNOWLES (1847-1900 Bahamas) and Jane Ann HOPKINS (1847-1933 Georgia).

In 1940 and 1950 she lived at 1013 Catherine St. in Key West.
MARRIAGE
As is always the case in relationships, Lela’s are difficult to pin down. In 1910 and 1920, Lela is listed on the census as married to William H KNOWLES and living on Duncan St and Peace St in Key West. She worked in a cider factory in 1920.
Family records show she married Thomas WOODSON on June 18, 1914, in Key West. (I have not found an official record of this). They had two children during their marriage: Edward Thomas and Jeston Von (born 1915, 1916).
She was divorced from Thomas Woodson in 1927. According to the 1930 census, Lela was then married to Arnold (Harold?) KNOWLES.
She died on July 17, 1967, in Key West, Florida, at the age of 82, and was buried there.
