Ann Elizabeth Hamilton was born on August 15, 1893, to Richard HAMILTON (1840-1944) and Mary Appolonia WEEKS (1859-1917).

MARRIAGE

Annie married Erskine Rolle on October 21, 19__ in Key West, Florida. The marriage certificate is difficult to read. I believe the year is before 1918 since Ann is listed as Erskine’s nearest relative on his WWI draft card.


CHILDREN

Harry J was born in 1935. Harry is listed as “adopted son” on the census records.


RESIDENCES

In 1900, she is listed as living in Chokoloskee with her parents, Richard and Mary, and her siblings, Walter, Eugene, Leon, Mary E, and Mary A.

In 1910, the family lived on Wood Key in the Ten Thousand Islands (Everglades). Ann is listed as living on Summerland Key with her mother, Mary, her sister Mary Agnes, her adopted brother, Marion McCloud, and a hired man named William Bayley.

Erskine’s WWI draft card in 1918, lists “Annie Eliza Rolle” as his nearest relative. The couple lived at Lostmans River in the Everglades.


In 1920, Ann lived in Flamingo, Florida with Erksine Rolle and her sister, Mary McCloud and Mary’s son, Manuel. Also living with them was Henry Short, husband of Ann’s sister, Mary Elizabeth.

In 1935, Ann and Erksine lived at 413 Thomas St in Key West.

In 1940, Ann and Erksine lived at 413 Thomas St in Key West. Thier son, Harry is listed as “adopted son.”

DEATH

Ann Elizabeth Hamilton died on August 30, 1953, in Tucson, Arizona, when she was 60 years old.
